Working With Jelly Roll

Our Work Together

Our collaboration with Jelly Roll in graphic design and video production stands as a monumental highlight over the past few years. I had the privilege of working closely with Jelly and his team during the launch of albums such as "A Beautiful Disaster" and "Ballad Of Broken Dreams." From engaging Vlogs and social media content to Electronic Press Kits (EPKs) and VIP laminates, our aim was to encapsulate Jelly Roll's unique musical identity in visual form.

A standout moment was the creation of limited edition T-shirts for Jelly Roll's Ryman Auditorium Debut, featuring stained glass windows with his distinctive silhouette—a visual celebration of a monumental achievement in his career.

Our creative partnership also extended to the promotional materials for "The Work In Progress Tour," where advertisements, VIP laminates, and thoughtfully curated social media content subtly complemented the tour.

Jelly Roll's overwhelming success stands as a testament to his talent and dedication, and I couldn't be prouder to have played a role in supporting his artistic vision along the way.

The Back Office VLOG

"The Back Office" Vlog series became a window into the world of Jelly Roll and his management team, offering audiences an intimate glimpse into the day to day aspects of what goes on behind the curtain. From BTS footage of music video shoots to laid-back rounds of golf, the series captured the essence of Jelly Roll's team.

Who Is Jelly Roll?

Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) was born in Nashville and raised in the suburb of Antioch. His birthday is Dec. 4, 1984. He wrote his first rap when he was 9 or 10, and was sharing his mixtapes by the eighth grade. After he was incarcerated, he returned to music, self-releasing albums and sharing his music on YouTube. He made his Billboard chart debut in 2011 with sophomore release 'Strictly Business' on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, peaking at No. 67. 2020's 'A Beautiful Disaster' cracked the Billboard 200 at No. 97, while 2023 gave him his first big hit on the chart: 'Whitsitt Chapel,' which reached No. 3. His first song to arrive on the Hot 100 was 2022's "Son of a Sinner" (No. 31). He counts Lainey Wilson, Yelawolf, Brantley Gilbert and Tech N9ne among his collaborators.

In a room full of country music royalty, the artist Jelly Roll — a 38-year-old face-tattooed former addict and drug dealer who got his start selling his own hip-hop mixtapes out of his car — took home the most trophies, beating superstars including Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown and Luke Combs. The crowd was on its feet as he performed his new single, “Need a Favor,” in a studded leather jacket, his gravelly voice backed by a full gospel choir.

“It was an absolute dream come true, the best-case scenario, and I’ve had a worst-case scenario life up to this point,” Jelly Roll said in a telephone interview the following week, excitedly recounting his interactions backstage with Shania Twain and Slash. “I spent my entire childhood feeling like I didn’t belong — in every situation, I felt like the uncomfortable fat kid. So that was like my high school prom and the graduation I never had, on national television.”
